Alexander Anderson Real Estate Group has hired executives for two newly created positions as part of an effort to make inroads into Jersey City.

In a news release, the Hackensack-based commercial real estate firm announced the hiring of Kenneth Brown and Diana Vasquez. They were hired as vice president of Hudson County sales and vice president of the commercial division for Hudson County, respectively.
The brand new positions were created to direct and manage the growth of the firm’s Hudson County office.
“We are committed to growing our business in Hudson County and are intensifying our focus there, particularly in Jersey City’s Journal Square area, with an eye toward replicating what we have accomplished in Hackensack in recent years,” Eric Anderson, CEO of Alexander Anderson, said in a prepared statement.
Brown, who will lead the firm’s Jersey City office, will be responsible for directing its operations in Hudson County. With more than 15 years of experience in luxury and investment property sales, as well as new development projects, the Hunter College graduate has worked for the Level Group, the Corcoran Group and Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
Vasquez brings five years of experience in both New York and New Jersey investment sales and commercial leasing, the news release said. With Alexander Anderson, she will focus on commercial sales, leasing and development in the region.
The Jersey City resident joins the firm from Keller Williams Commercial Division. She is a former Marine and loan officer, while holding a certificate in real estate financial analysis from New York University School of Professional Studies and a B.A in marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Alexander Anderson noted its role in recent efforts to revitalize downtown Hackensack, which includes attracting development and businesses and leasing and selling redevelopment properties. The news release said that, in the last five years, the firm has been involved in transactions in Hackensack totaling 5 million square feet of office, residential, retail and warehouse space.
“We are bringing the same vision and expertise that we applied in Hackensack to redevelop Journal Square and the surrounding area and are confident that Ken and Diana will play a pivotal role in directing our success there,” Anderson said added. “They bring a wealth of real estate sales, leasing and development experience and have strong ties to the Jersey City community. I am very excited that they have joined Alexander Anderson at this time.”
