An apparel company has leased nearly 37,000 square feet of warehouse space in Edison, under a newly announced transaction by Zimmel Associates.

The brokerage firm said the tenant, Amrapur Warehousing LLC, has relocated to the space at 97 Sunfield Ave. after outgrowing its previous location in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. It will occupy 36,900 square feet at the Edison property, which is part of the sprawling Raritan Center complex near the New Jersey Turnpike.

Zimmel Associates represented the tenant in the long-term lease.

“With a showroom in Manhattan for their apparel business, Raritan Center in Edison was an ideal location for Amrapur Warehousing LLC based upon their distribution needs,” said David Zimmel, CEO of Zimmel Associates. “High ceilings, with multiple loading and easy access to all major highways made this a perfect fit.”

Zimmel noted that the landlord at Amrapur’s previous location, 135 East Essex Ave., hired its team to lease the newly vacant, 27,710-square-foot industrial space. It subsequently brokered a lease at the building with A & S Intermodal Carriers Inc.

“This was a wonderful opportunity to help both Amrapur Warehousing LLC and their former Avenel landlord,” said Jaime Zimmel, a vice president with Zimmel. “Both clients were able to benefit.”
