Three food and beverage tenants have opened their doors alongside a newly developed mix of medical users, housing and commercial space in Gloucester County.
The operators — Santucci’s Original Square Pizza, What’s The Scoop and Bison Coffee Company — occupy a combined 6,400 square feet along Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township. Each is leasing space from a joint venture of Atkins Cos. and Woodmont Properties, joining a 30,000-square-foot retail component at the 35-acre site known as Washington Square Town Center.
“The success of any mixed-use project is defined by the development team’s creation of complementary spaces that work in synergy to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for residents and visitors alike,” said Robert Atkins, managing partner of Atkins Cos. “We are excited to welcome each of these businesses to Washington Square Town Center and continue to realize our mixed-use vision for this one-of-a-kind property.”
Anchored by the 40,000-square-foot Rothman Medical Building, Washington Square also has 330 apartments, 100 townhomes and an assisted living facility at a site located at 253 and 261 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road. Santucci’s will operate both a 2,620-square-foot indoor space and an adjacent outdoor courtyard dining area, while Bison Coffee Company will feature a 70-seat, 1,800-square-foot indoor and outdoor café.
For its part, What’s The Scoop will operate from a 1,980-square-foot space at the entrance of the community. The business is a new ice cream parlor concept, offering seasonal items and unique, limited-edition desserts with a continuously changing menu of specials.
