Avison Young has expanded its New Jersey brokerage team with three new hires.
The real estate services firm said Monday that it has hired Ian Weiss and James J. Byron III as vice presidents and Michael Corrigan as senior associate. They will help add to the Morristown-based team’s depth in the office, industrial and capital markets sectors.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome these three new real estate professionals to the Avison Young New Jersey team,” said Jeffrey L. Heller, Avison Young principal and managing director of New Jersey. “Ian, James and Michael each bring an impressive set of unique credentials and expertise needed to meet our clients’ needs. These multidisciplinary hires will fortify an already deep-seated team and we are delighted to have them on board.”
In a news release, Avison Young said Weiss brings nearly a decade of experience and will represent office tenants and landlords in strategic planning and leasing. Before joining the firm, he served as associate director for Walter & Samuels Inc., where he oversaw leasing and marketing efforts for office properties encompassing more than 1.1 million square feet.
Weiss holds a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College and a law degree from Suffolk University of Law. He also is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
Byron brings more than 12 years of experience in commercial real estate, the news release said. He will concentrate on business development for the booming New Jersey industrial market, with a focus on leasing and representing corporate users and landlords.
He most recently was co-founder and principal at The Green Rock Group, an investment and development firm focused on acquiring, redeveloping and repositioning real estate assets throughout the tristate region. Prior to that, Byron spent five years as an associate director at Cushman & Wakefield.
Byron holds a bachelor’s in finance from Fairfield University.
Corrigan, meantime, comes to AY with nearly a decade of underwriting and real estate expertise, the firm said. He will join George Gnad, principal in the debt and equity capital markets group, and assist clients with the underwriting and financial analysis for both debt and equity.
Prior to Avison Young, he served as a vice president with TD Bank for more than five years in New York City and Boston, the news release said. He began his career as a financial and budget analyst for three years with NRT LLC/Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Corrigan holds a degree from the University of Richmond.
