The Blau & Berg Co. has hired a longtime commercial real estate broker and consultant in the state as its new director of business development.

Christian Benedetto joins the Short Hills-based firm with 20 years of industry experience, including work with major companies such as Prudential Financial, Provident Bank, Connect One Bank and Lockheed Martin. He specializes in urban projects that include retail, office and medical, having most recently served as broker of record and director of real estate services for HSB Advisors.
“Christian’s commitment to giving back to the community, his service to the United States, his deep financial background and entrepreneurial spirit bring a unique perspective to our business,” said Jason M. Crimmins, Blau & Berg’s president. “We look forward to working with Christian to continue to drive our clients’ success.”
Benedetto is also a published author of four books of poetry, a U.S. patent holder and an avid supporter of military veterans. After serving in the United States Marine Corp infantry during the first Gulf War, he founded the quarterly magazine PTSD Journal to help fellow sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder and was later nominated as a 2017 CNN Hero for his work
Benedetto received a bachelor’s degree in financial services from Monmouth University and graduate degrees in both finance and computer information systems management.
