Bertone Piccini LLP has broadened its team with the addition of Donald Pierce and Madison Conlon as attorneys and Eliseo Labayen as a law clerk.
The firm, which is based in Hasbrouck Heights, said Pierce joins its ranks as an experienced commercial and consumer litigator with an emphasis in the areas of construction law and consumer fraud. Prior to joining Bertone Piccini, he successfully represented clients in complex contractual disputes, construction lien claims and in general litigation matters involving the Consumer Fraud Act, Home Improvement Practices Act and other consumer regulations.
Pierce is a U.S. Army veteran, having served as an infantry officer in the 82nd Airborne Division, and received his juris doctor from Rutgers Law School.
“We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our firm with hired attorneys Donald Pierce, Madison Conlon and Law Clerk Eliseo Labayen,” said Jeremy Piccini, a founding partner with Bertone Piccini. “Their distinct abilities will empower our firm to improve how we support clients and foster stronger relationships within the business community.”
Pierce added: “I am very excited to join the expanding and talented team at Bertone Piccini LLP. The firm’s reputation for providing sophisticated, creative and highly effective legal counsel aligns with my core principles. I look forward to leveraging my litigation and construction experience in servicing its prominent clientele.”
Conlon, who joins the firm as an associate, has worked as a paralegal at multiple real estate law firms across Bergen County and at a litigation-focused law firm in Sydney, Australia, as part of a study abroad and internship program at Boston University, according to a news release. She received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was awarded a full-tuition Presidential Scholarship.
“I am beyond excited to begin my legal career at Bertone Piccini, a firm focused on providing the highest-quality services to its clientele,” Conlon said. “I’m looking forward to learning from my esteemed colleagues.”
Labayen, meantime, is in his second year at New York Law School and expects to receive his juris doctor in 2026. During his law school career, he has interned for a renewable energy construction company, where he assisted in the research, drafting and review of engineering, procurement and construction agreements and other legal developments in the construction industry.
Prior to entering law school, Labayen was a candidate for the New York City Council District 29 and taught English as a foreign language in Tudela, Spain.
“I feel excited and exhilarated to join as a law clerk at Bertone Piccini,” Labayen said. “The firm is comprised of powerhouse attorneys and professionals dedicated to the success of their clients. I look forward to aiding in that success and developing the expertise that so many here share.”
Bertone Piccini has grown to 16 attorneys since its founding in 2011 by Grace C. Bertone and Piccini, with practice areas including commercial real estate, corporate and business transactions, litigation, personal injury, employment, estate planning, estate administration and more, the news release said. It has also grown recently by providing outside general counsel services to startup and midsized businesses and real estate developers.
