A growing food products wholesaler is relocating to more than 7,000 square feet in Essex County, under a recent industrial lease announced Monday by The Blau & Berg Co.
The brokerage firm said it represented Grassland Foods in the 7,271-square-foot transaction at 50 South Center St. in Orange. The company, a wholesaler of dried fruits and nuts, is moving from Long Island after seeking a facility in the metropolitan area with close proximity to ports and commuter rail lines.
Michael F. Schipper, senior associate with Short Hills-based Blau & Berg, completed the deal. He touted the space’s location along Interstate 280 and near the Orange train station, adding that it provides access to interstates 80 and 287 and the New Jersey Turnpike.
“Grassland Foods was seeking to improve its business by relocating near the active port of Newark and its network of transport highways,” Schipper said. “Under new ownership, the facility was restored and updated to allow for cleaner and more efficient workspace and is part of a larger revitalization of the area, making it especially appealing.”
