Leasing has surged at a new 291-unit apartment complex that opened earlier this year along the Raritan Bay in South Amboy, developer BNE Real Estate Group announced this week.
The firm said the property, Station Bay, was more than 50 percent rented as of June 6 after the launch of leasing in February. BNE has also welcomed its first residents as it marks the recent groundbreaking of a new public ferry terminal nearby, which will help anchor a $500 million redevelopment that kicked off with the multifamily project off Radford Ferry Road.
“We’re excited about the strong leasing velocity at Station Bay and the number of residents who are already living here,” said Jonathan Schwartz, a partner at BNE. “We’ve been big believers in the enormous untapped potential of South Amboy and take pride in the fact that our community is actively transforming the waterfront into a vibrant new residential destination that will be enhanced by the addition of ferry service to New York City.”
The Livingston-based developer also said this week that it has opened Station Bay’s outdoor pool and private cabanas, part of more than 37,000 square feet of amenity and social spaces. Other features include a lobby lounge with a coffee bar, multiple entertainment lounges, a Matrix fitness center with separate yoga and spin studios and a co-working lounge with private meeting rooms, among other offerings, augmenting the building’s collection of upscale studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes.
Residents at Station Bay, where monthly rental rates start at $2,125, are minutes from South Amboy’s downtown, NJ Transit rail service and highways such as the Garden State Parkway, the New Jersey Turnpike and routes 9 and 440.
