A new cannabis dispensary is coming to West Orange after completing a lease for 2,500 square feet, in a newly announced deal by The Blau & Berg Co.
The operator, Dogwood Green, will operate what the brokerage team described as a microbusiness dispensary on Central Avenue. Published reports describe the location as a former bank, about a half-mile south of Interstate 280 and the Northfield Avenue corridor.
Blau & Berg’s Christian M. Benedetto Jr., director of business development, and Justyna Kuczaj, a sales associate with the Short Hills-based firm, represented Dogwood Green in the deal at 5 Central Ave.
“Central Avenue was the ideal location for the client,” Benedetto said. “Being the first business of its kind in West Orange, it was important to make sure they were settled in a prime retail location in anticipation of a summer 2023 opening.”
The New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission, which has overseen the industry since the state legalized recreational marijuana in 2021, approved Dogwood Green LLC’s license last fall.
