Caryl Communications has tapped one of its longtime account managers as its new chief operating officer.
The Fair Lawn-based public relations and marketing agency announced Friday that it has promoted Sandy Crisafulli, who represents commercial real estate clients such as Prism Capital Partners and Levin Management Corp. In the new position, she is overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations, client strategy and team development, while continuing her role as senior account manager.
“From her earliest days with us, Sandy has been an integral part of our organization and a true leader,” said Caryl Bixon-Gordon, founder, president and chairman of the firm. “Her appointment to COO is a natural next step, and I speak for our entire team in saying we are thrilled to have her in this new role.”
Crisafulli, a resident of Kingston, New York, has nearly three decades of both agency and client-side public relations experience, according to a news release. Following her career launch as journalist, she served as vice president at Caryl Communications in the mid-1990s, focusing on account management, writing and media relations as a contractor prior to her recent appointment to COO.
The firm touted Crisafulli’s broad experience in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer public relations.
“Sandy is known by her clients as a top-level service provider who works diligently for them and produces outstanding results,” Bixon-Gordon added. “As COO, she will be in touch with all of the firm’s clients and contribute to their successes.”
Crisafulli earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Hartford, majoring in communications and journalism with a minor in English, having also completed graduate courses at William Paterson University. She is a member of NAIOP New Jersey and the Public Relations Society of America.
“I am truly honored to step into this expanded role with a company that has continually provided me with new career opportunities — and adventures,” Crisafulli said. “Those who work with and for Caryl Communications know this is a company deeply committed to its clients, many of whom have been with our firm for decades. That longevity speaks volumes about how we do business.”
Caryl Communications’ practice includes clients in commercial and residential real estate, health care, retail, technology, architecture, finance, professional services, nonprofit organizations and many others.
“As a team, we recognize that this changing world has brought new challenges for businesses in every industry,” Crisafulli said. “We also see great opportunity in the form of evolving operational agility and connectivity. Ultimately, I look forward to helping CCI and our clients leverage this ‘new world’ and its possibilities for strengthening public relations and marketing communications initiatives.”
