At-home fitness company Peloton Interactive has opened a new warehouse and fulfillment center in Carteret, where it has leased 156,000 square feet as part of a deal arranged by CBRE.
The real estate services firm represented both parties in the lease at 1500 Blair Road, which is owned by AEW. The tenant, which makes high-end, video-enabled workout fitness equipment such as indoor bikes, now boasts a location off the New Jersey Turnpike with access to the region’s vast network of highways.
CBRE’s Scott Belfer and Lou Belfer negotiated the 156,068-square-foot lease on behalf of Peloton. Thomas Monahan, Stephen D’Amato, Larry Schiffenhaus, Anastasia Lazarides, Lauren Griffith and Gerard Monahan, also of CBRE, represented ownership.
“Peloton Interactive needed a state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution facility with convenient access to the New Jersey Turnpike that was also in close proximity to New York City and near a robust labor pool,” said Scott Belfer, a senior vice president with CBRE. “1500 Blair Road fit our client’s requirements perfectly and its location was a key factor in its decision to commit to a long-term lease for the entire complex.”
In a news release, CBRE noted 1500 Blair Road features 17 loading docks, 36-foot ceiling heights, a secured truck court and parking trailer storage. The property is minutes from Port Newark-Elizabeth and Newark Liberty International Airport.
