Connell Foley LLP has tapped a veteran attorney as the new co-chair of its construction practice.

The firm, which is based in Roseland, said Mitchell W. Taraschi assumed the leadership position effective Oct. 1, bringing more than 20 years of experience in advising construction industry businesses. He serves in the role alongside Michael X. McBride, the longtime chair of the group and former Connell Foley managing partner.
“I am so pleased to have Mitchell join me in leading the firm’s Construction Group,” McBride said. “Connell Foley is rightfully recognized as one of the leading construction law groups in the region, and Mitchell has been instrumental in delivering the top-notch legal service that our clients come to expect from the firm. I am looking forward to working with Mitchell to ensure our Construction Group continues to deliver cutting-edge solutions and successful outcomes for our industry clients.”
The practice said that, in construction litigation cases, Taraschi advises on significant contract disputes, defective construction, delay damages, acceleration claims, back charges and public bid disputes. He also advocates for clients in state and federal courts and before the American Arbitration Association, having handled cases across an array of industries.
Additionally, Taraschi drafts and reviews a host of contract types — including construction manager, architect, general contractor, subcontractor and vendor and supplier agreements — for public and private owners and contractors, Connell Foley said. His clients range from small businesses to global and Fortune 500 firms, including private and public works contractors, subcontractors and owners, manufacturing companies, cosmetics companies, pharmaceutical corporations and real estate developers.
His experience also includes product liability, mass tort and complex commercial litigation.
