Cushman & Wakefield has made another key addition in New Jersey, hiring a veteran broker who will help bolster its investment sales team in the multifamily sector.
Based in the firm’s East Rutherford office, Niko Nicolaou joins C&W as a vice chairman with its Multifamily Advisory Group. He does so after more than 12 years with Gebroe-Hammer Associates, having been involved in more than $2.6 billion in sales, including more than 165 deals and over 10,000 units.
“Niko is a great addition to our industry-leading capital markets team in New Jersey and we are excited to welcome him to Cushman & Wakefield,” said Peter Bronsnick, the firm’s managing principal in New Jersey. “Niko’s multifamily expertise and vast experience will advance our presence in the market and his approach to the business fits our culture perfectly. Bringing on best-in-class talent like Niko will help us continue to grow our rapidly expanding platforms, including our Multifamily Advisory Group, to respond to our clients’ needs and continue to increase our market share.”
All told, Nicolaou has more than 15 years of experience representing a range of property owners and investors, from institutional entities and private equity funds to family offices and private individuals, according to a news release. He most recently was an executive vice president with Gebroe-Hammer, the Livingston-based brokerage firm, and has earned several industry accolades due to his performance as a broker.
Nicolaou is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and the New Jersey Apartment Association, the news release said. He holds a degree in business finance and philosophy from Monmouth University.
“I’m proud to be joining this dynamic group of professionals at Cushman & Wakefield in New Jersey,” Nicolaou said. “The firm’s solidified culture of respect, teamwork, excellence and winning coupled with the ability to leverage the resources and global platform will enable me to deliver optimal results for my clients. I’m thrilled to begin working alongside some of the industry’s best and brightest.”
