The Hampshire Cos. has sold a mixed-use development site in the Metropark section of Woodbridge, in a newly announced deal by Cushman & Wakefield.
The buyer, Woodmont Properties, is now slated to develop the parcel at 186 Wood Ave. South with luxury apartments and high-end senior housing, according to a news release. Additional details were not immediately available, but the projects would join the existing office space at the site known as Centra at Metropark, which Hampshire opened more than a decade ago after stripping an existing building to its steel and reconstructing it with a new upscale design.
Cushman’s Andrew Merin, David Bernhaut, Gary Gabriel, Frank DiTommaso and Ryan Larkin represented the seller in the transaction.
“We are thrilled to have arranged the successful sale of this prime development site in Metropark,” Larkin said. “This project aligns perfectly with the needs of the community, offering a unique opportunity for a mixed-use development that will enhance the live-work-play environment within this dynamic district. The proximity to Metropark station and the array of amenities in the area make it an attractive prospect for both residents and businesses.”
The deal comes more than two years after C&W brokered the sale of the 110,000-square-foot office building, which has a full-service cafeteria, a fitness center, a conference center and other amenities, to Opal Holdings. Part of a roughly 19-acre site, the building is a former Siemens Corp. facility that was revitalized as multitenant space under Hampshire’s gut-rehabilitation project.
