Day Pitney LLP has found a new home in Parsippany after reportedly leasing some 55,000 square feet in one of the township’s best-known office corridors.
The East Coast-based law firm, which had 140 employees in New Jersey as of July 1, is slated to move in late summer or early fall 2025 to the space at 8 Sylvan Way. It will occupy a large portion of the roughly 176,000-square-foot building, which is well-known as the former home of The Medicines Co. and as one of the township’s newest office properties, following a major renovation and addition in 2009.
Day Pitney’s New Jersey team is currently based at One Jefferson Road in Parsippany.
“Our New Jersey office move will be the most recent in a series of moves that Day Pitney has made over the last several years to modernize the firm’s workspaces to best meet the current and future needs of our attorneys, staff and clients,” said Chip Krauss, Day Pitney’s chief operating officer. “Our new office space will assist us in facilitating continued growth, fostering collaboration and reinforcing our firm culture.”
JLL’s David Stifelman, Tim Greiner and Noah Stewart are listed as the leasing team for 8 Sylvan, according to the building’s website. Amenities include three flex training spaces and a conference center with a boardroom plus three training rooms that open to the café, allowing for town hall capacity of 350 people.
The deal by Day Pitney comes some 15 years after The Hampshire Cos. transformed the building to accommodate The Medicines Co., in an HLW-designed project that included taking the once-obsolete, 100,000-square-foot structure down to its steel and rebuilding it as a new 175,000-square-foot property. It did so to capitalize on a location that has quick access to Route 10 and interstates 80.
Novartis AG acquired The Medicines Co. in 2020.
