Drawing inspiration from well-known brands such as Nutella, a Millburn-based architecture firm is touting the design of a newly completed headquarters space for Ferrero USA.
The firm, Studio 1200, oversaw the interior for the international confections company’s new U.S. headquarters in Parsippany. The design firm said the new space reflects Ferrero’s presence, culture and heritage, highlighting details such as the use of gold and brown to evoke the Ferrero Rocher chocolate and foil wrapping and bright red to reflect the iconic Nutella logo.
“Where the common areas favor gold, red and darker wood, the clean white office spaces were inspired by Tic Tacs, another of Ferrero’s famous products,” Studio 1200 wrote in a description of the project. “Shape and texture were also important elements in the design of this project.”
Ferrero, which is based in Luxembourg, has moved from Somerset to the new 50,000-square-foot space at 7 Sylvan Way in Parsippany.
The family-owned Italian company also tasked Studio 1200 with finding a place to house two Madonna statues that were blessed by the Pope, in a nod to an identity that’s based heavily on history and culture, according to the description. The design firm created a town hall area as a solution to create a sense of family and offer a place for meetings, meals and coffee.
Studio 1200 also pointed to a custom reception area screen that was created by a local artist and inspired by the Ferrero Rocher packaging.
“Upon its conclusion, the project was extremely successful in creating a space branded to the company that Ferrero could consider a home in the United States,” the design firm wrote. “We created a space that not only reflects their products, but also their priorities and company culture.
“We have a very strong working relationship with the client and already have two new projects in the works, with more to follow.”
