Construction is underway on a new 113-unit luxury apartment building in Linden, in what will become one of several new multifamily developments in the Union County city.
The firm, Ramani Group, broke ground last month on the project at 1140 East St. Georges Ave. Slated to include a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, the property is expected to be delivered in two phases, starting in spring 2019.
The head of the Roselle Park-based firm touted Linden’s convenient location near Route 1&9 and the Port of New York and New Jersey, along with a business-friendly atmosphere fostered by local officials. The project will transform land that had been left barren for more than 30 years.
“We seek value in identifying underutilized land throughout New Jersey to transform that into magnificent real estate opportunities that fit and support the surrounding community,” said Hiren Ramani, managing member of Ramani Group. “That is our vision and Linden has given us an opportunity to be a part of this transformation. I am very honored to work alongside the great leadership of the mayor of Linden, Derek Armstead, and his team.”
Designed by The Musial Group Architecture, the project calls for for amenities such as a fitness center, a community room, children’s play room, yoga room and a promenade, according to a news release. Plans also call for a dog run.
