A joint venture is preparing to unveil a collection of new loft-style homes in Hoboken, as it nears the completion of a plan to restore and convert the city’s historic Wonder Bread factory.
The team of Prism Capital Partners, Angelo Gordon and Parkwood Development will launch sales in late spring at 720 Clinton St., the site of what’s known as Wonder Lofts, the firms announced this week. Slated to include 83 units, the complex will feature two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom floorplans ranging from 1,200 to 2,700 square feet, with private outdoor space in every home and a series of upscale amenities for residents.
Hoboken-based MVMK Architecture + Design served as the project architect, while Manhattan-based Workshop/APD served as the interior designer, according to a news release. The team has spent much of the past three years retrofitting the roughly 112-year-old building, which produced Wonder Bread during the 1950s and 1960s.
According to the developers, that process has involved preserving and restoring its original brick detail, archways, high ceilings, large window openings, smokestack and water tower. The team has also sought to modernize the property with a façade of glass and light gray aluminum that adds to and accentuates the restored original structure, while also building a new five-story structure across the street that will house 15 of the units.

Each home has high-end appliances and fixtures, the news release said. Wonder Lofts will also include 14,400 square feet of shared indoor and outdoor amenity space, including a rooftop offering 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline, all of Hoboken and beyond, with a landscaped patio lounge featuring an infinity-edge swimming pool.
The outdoor area also features lounge chairs, a circular bar underneath the restored water tower and gas grills, among other offerings. Meantime, residents will have access to an indoor lounge that opens to a landscaped, outdoor patio and with seating, a fireplace and other features.
Wonder Lofts is centrally located in Hoboken, providing a short walk from the city’s vast retail and restaurant offerings, along with its mass transit options.
