A development team has leased more than 200 apartments at the first phase of a large redevelopment project in Hackensack, at the former site of The Record daily newspaper.
The milestone at Print House, a joint venture of Russo Development, The Hampshire Cos. and Fourth Edition Inc., comes just three months after the launch of leasing at 160 River St. The 271-unit first phase is now more than 80 percent leased, as the firms prepare to deliver additional phases in early 2024.
“From the moment a prospective resident walks through the door at Print House, they notice the attention to detail we’ve put into the design elements and thoughtful amenities that we offer,” said Adam Pasternack, president of Russo Property Management. “The accelerated leasing activity is a direct response to what people expect in an all-inclusive community experience with convenient commuting options and onsite retail offerings.
“Our new residents are not only coming from Hackensack and surrounding towns, but also from Jersey City, Hoboken and New York City. The right mix of Class A construction, convenient location and transportation options plus an excellent value away from the Gold Coast has struck the ideal chord for our residents.”
SLIDESHOW: Inside Print House
Print House includes luxury studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, with monthly rents starting at $2,100, according to a news release. Residents have access to outdoor amenities such as a rooftop terrace with New York City skyline views, a resort-style pool and sundeck and private outdoor kitchens, while indoor offerings include a high-end fitness center with yoga and spin room, multiple resident lounges and a game room with a multi-sport simulator, among others.
The developers’ plans also call for a soon-to-be-completed riverwalk and public green space. Additionally, Print House also has more than 30,000 square feet of street-level retail space, with NAI James E. Hanson as its leasing agent, having already secured leases from Hackensack Meridian Health and Blue Foundry Bank, with two others nearing completion.
The project, part of the vast multifamily development pipeline in Hackensack, is repurposing the long-dormant, 20-acre property previously home to The Record newspaper.
