SJP Properties has sold a parcel within its five-building office campus in Bridgewater, paving the way for the development of a new high-end Marriott hotel and Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar.
The firm announced the sale this week as it moves to enhance the amenities at the 1.2 million-square-foot, Class A office park known as Somerset Corporate Center. Construction on the new 150-room AC Hotels by Marriott facility and Zinburger restaurant will begin this month and is expected to be completed by 2020.
Terms were not disclosed. Public records identify the buyer as The Briad Group, a Livingston-based hospitality company.
SJP described AC Hotels as a European-inspired hospitality brand with more than 100 locations around the world, with a focus on high-end accommodations and public spaces and technology. The brand’s newest location in Bridgewater will feature a rooftop bar and lounge and will be complemented by a 5,800-square-foot, freestanding Zinburger, a growing restaurant chain offering gourmet burgers and paired wine selections.

Located at routes 202/206 and 22, Somerset Corporate Center is home to several high-profile tenants, including Linde Americas, iconectiv, Mazda, Kering Eyewear and Allergan. SJP announced early this year that the campus had reached full occupancy with a 30,882-square-foot expansion by Qualcomm at Somerset Corporate Center V, bringing the tech firm’s total footprint to 156,294 square feet.
SJP has also unveiled plans for a 130,000-square-foot Life Time fitness facility on the campus. The property, which also offers quick access to interstates 287 and 78, is directly across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall.
