A development team has debuted its second phase of new luxury apartments in Union Township, marking the completion of a 396-unit project less than a mile from Kean University.
The final piece of Summit Court, a joint venture of Diversified Properties and Fidelco Realty Group, has brought another 263 units to the site at 1776 Patriot Way. The developers unveiled the completed property last week during a ceremony that drew Union Mayor Manuel Figueiredo, state Sen. Joseph P. Cryan and other local officials, following the launch of leasing last month and the completion of the first phase in spring 2018.
“We have had this date circled on our calendars since completing phase one for Summit Court,” said Nicholas Minoia, founding and managing partner of Diversified Properties. “While we didn’t foresee a global pandemic, our experience, our partnership with Fidelco Realty Group and our close collaboration with Union Township provided us with the tools to navigate and overcome many obstacles created by COVID-19. We are honored to celebrate today with everyone who helped us bring this one-of-a-kind community to life.”
Diversified and Fidelco have drawn renters to the property thanks in part to its proximity to Kean University, the burgeoning Morris Avenue corridor and the NJ Transit’s Union station. Along with upscale apartments, the complex has amenities such as a pool and sundeck with grilling and dining areas, firepits and lounge seating, along with indoor offerings including a clubhouse and a fitness center with Peloton bikes and a cardio and strength center.
The location also provides residents with easy access to the Garden State Parkway, Interstate 78 and Route 22 as well as Newark Liberty International Airport.
“This isn’t just another apartment complex — Fidelco and Diversified partnered to bring a new, upscale community to Union,” said Marc E. Berson, chairman of Fidelco Realty Group. “The location, build quality and amenities make these homes perfect for individuals, professionals and families who value convenience and comfort. With easy access to the Union train station and Kean University, Summit Court promises to be a wonderful place for our new tenants to call home.”
Morris Construction Management, Diversified Properties’ affiliated construction management firm, spearheaded the project for the developers.
