OUR CLIENTS
DMR’s target client base is the progressive companies, people and organizations that are transforming communities, solving complex problems and upgrading various infrastructure — no matter the sector or scope. Having played a role in many transformative projects, we seek out clients who will allow us to exercise our creativity and to solve problems we can’t yet predict. Looking back on how we’ve grown over the years, some of our most inspirational and motivating clients brought with them complex projects that we had never done before.
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
With more than $15 million of recent work at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, DMR is blending its understanding of health care facilities — a class unlike any other in real estate due to technological evolutions — with its ability to create outstanding functionality and an aesthetic that engages patients.
For years, medical facility layouts have been moving toward experiential design which focuses on more than simply providing care, but acknowledges that spatial experiences, such as calming materials, privacy and clear wayfinding impact both services and healing. In the surgery suite, DMR created an interior design scheme that so closely matched the hospital’s commitment to patient experience that it has been implemented as a standard, beginning with DMR’s projects at the oncology and cardiology suites.
Recognizing that the user experience is not limited to only patients, this theme continues into the new employee cafeteria, which was reimagined to provide staff with an experience more like eating at an upscale café or restaurant through the use of high-top tables and bank seating, a “kitchen island” and a lounge area for relaxing.
We are particularly proud of this work at St. Peter’s University Hospital. Like all architecture, there is a meeting of science and art — but where health care is concerned, an architect’s ability to marry functional needs like circulation and adjacencies with experiential needs like finishes and furniture is critical in spaces where seconds can make a difference.
