Edgewood Properties has opened the doors to a new luxury apartment complex in Freehold, where it has launched a leasing program that gives priority to current and former military personnel.
Known as The Edge at Freehold, the 209-unit community sits along a heavily traveled stretch of Route 9 just south of Route 524. Along with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units, the property offers more than 32,000 square feet of commercial space.
“I am incredibly excited about The Edge at Freehold,” said Jack Morris, CEO and president of Edgewood Properties. “In addition to our units offering spacious layouts and high-quality finishes, the community will offer residents hotel-style services and resort-like amenities.”
The Piscataway-based developer debuted the property during a ceremony on Thursday, where it also launched its Veterans Preference Housing Initiative. The complex is the first luxury Edgewood property to implement the program, which seeks to match veterans and active duty personnel with their housing needs and provide other benefits such as reduced up-front costs and discounts on furnished rentals.
In addition, veterans and active duty personnel receive wait list priority when rentals with income limits are available.
“I have the utmost respect for those who have served and currently serve in our armed forces and believe that we all need to show our gratitude to them in any way we can,” Morris said. “The Edge at Freehold will provide high-quality housing to as many veterans as we possibly can. Those who serve in our armed forces deserve nothing less in Freehold and at all of our communities, both on the income-qualified side and on the market rate side. We’re thrilled to extend this offer to those who serve.”
Amenities at The Edge at Freehold include a resort-style pool, high-end fitness center and resident game room, along with a business center and conference room.
