A film and television production studio has leased more than 23,000 square feet at a Carlstadt office building, in a newly announced deal by NAI James E. Hanson.
Brokers with the firm represented ownership in the deal at 800 Central Blvd., a 180,719-square-foot property near Route 3, Interstate 80 and other highways. Sustainable Studios LLC will use the 23,272-square-foot, long-vacant space as a new production facility, with a business plan focused on productions that use green technology and sustainable best practices.
NAI Hanson’s Andrew Somple and Justin Allessio completed the assignment on behalf of 800 Central Boulevard LLC, noting that the lease marks the continued growth of New Jersey’s burgeoning filmmaking industry. They added that the 7.5-acre property is minutes from the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway and less than 10 miles from the George Washington Bridge and Lincoln Tunnel.
“New Jersey’s strategic location and favorable incentive packages have increasingly made it a preferred destination for filmmakers and production companies,” Somple said. “The boom in movie and film production has also opened additional opportunities for office landlords with large spaces in northern and central New Jersey. We were happy to work with our client to tap into this demand to help them attract a quality business to their vacant space.”
