Joseph E. Fingerman has joined Peapack-Gladstone Financial Corp. as senior managing director and president of commercial real estate, the lender announced Monday.
The bank said Fingerman, who is responsible for managing and growing its commercial real estate lending platform, has more than 25 years of industry experience. He specializes in developing and offering customized commercial mortgage financing solutions for experienced, well-qualified real estate investors and operators, as well as family offices, real estate partnerships and major investment firms.
He spent more than 15 years with Signature Bank, last serving as managing group director and senior vice president of the commercial real estate lending group, according to a news release. In that role, Fingerman oversaw the bank’s entire commercial real estate portfolio including growth in the New York and West Coast markets.
Since leaving Signature in 2023, Fingerman built and served as president and managing director of A&E Real Estate Finance, a boutique private credit platform.

The firm described Fingerman, who began his commercial real estate career at Commercial Bank of New York and later became a key member of the real estate lending group at North Fork Bank, as an experienced leader who is dedicated to serving and solidifying relationships with many of the New York area’s top real estate clients. He is well known for lending on retail, offices, multifamily and mixed-use properties, as well as new construction finance and note-on-note financing.
Aside from his ties to real estate owners and institutional investors across the country, Fingerman has garnered deep, longstanding relationships with a multitude of top sales and debt brokers in the marketplace. A graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta, with an MBA in management from Dowling College, he currently serves as a board member for the UJA Federation of New York, Suffolk Y JCC and is a member of trade organizations such as the New York Apartment Association, Real Estate Board of New York, Association of Better Long Island, Long Island Real Estate Group and ICSC.
