PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Gibbons continues to represent NJ Transit on major projects. Notably, in July 2024, Gibbons, led by Director Jennifer Phillips Smith, assisted NJ Transit with the negotiation and execution of a master development agreement and a ground lease to transform underutilized surface parking at the Metropark station into a transit-oriented medical office tower, multifamily housing and retail. The first phase is under construction.
In fall 2024, NJ Transit also began moving into its new corporate headquarters in the Gateway Center in Newark. Gibbons, led by Director Andrew Camelotto, assisted NJ Transit with the negotiation and execution of a lease agreement and parking license governing the use and occupancy of over 400,000 square feet of office space in the Gateway Center in Newark.
