A new pet daycare location has come to Hawthorne after a franchisee’s acquisition of a 6,000-square-foot building in the borough, brokers with The Goldstein Group announced.
The buyer, Prestige Rental Properties II LLC, paid an undisclosed sum for the property at 100 Braen Ave. The site is now home to what’s known as Hounds Town, which provides overnight boarding for dogs and cats plus a dog wash facility, retail sales and a pet taxi service.
The Goldstein Group Sales Associate Alex Goldstein represented the buyer. Jonathan Kristofich of NAI James E. Hanson represented the seller, Para Capital Partners LLC.
“After a long search of properties, we were able to focus on this transaction,” Goldstein said. “The location will afford ownership a great opportunity in the market to establish their Hounds Town operation.”
In announcing the deal, Goldstein noted that former NYPD and Nassau County Police canine handler Michael Gould founded Hounds Town in 2000. The first location was a 1,200-square-foot store in Port Jefferson, New York, setting the stage for a footprint that now includes more than 100 franchise locations across the U.S.
