A gym franchise has found a new home in Old Bridge after leasing space at a 26,000-square-foot shopping center, according to an agency team with Levin Management Corp.
The operator, SETS Hybrid Training, is taking 3,000 square feet for a concept that calls for group circuit-based training with a continual combination of strength and high-intensity cardio, according to a news release. It’s moving from a nearby location to its new studio at Route 9 and Throckmorton Lane, known as Route 9 Plaza, having grown significantly since opening three years ago.
LMC Leasing Representative Kendal Hand-Freda represented ownership, while Justin Goodman of Sitar Realty Co. represented the tenant.
“Our new space at Route 9 Plaza is double the size of our existing location, which is very exciting both for our members and coaches,” said Ryan Bailey, owner and operator of the Old Bridge franchise. “We look forward to welcoming new and existing members to this larger studio. The additional space will allow us to increase our class capacity and gives our coaches more room to be creative when coming up with different fitness activities and challenges for our members.”
Bailey plans to open his second SETS Hybrid Training studio this spring in Middletown, the news release said. In announcing the deal, LMC said every workout at SETS is completely customizable to meet the needs and goals of each member in a positive and supportive atmosphere, with 50-minute, coach-led sessions that are both beginner-friendly and challenging.
The firm added that consumer visits to fitness-related retail increased almost 15 percent during the second half of 2022, reflecting growing momentum for the popular category nationwide, citing traffic data from Placer.ai.
“Fitness concepts are active players in today’s retail landscape and strong traffic drivers for shopping centers like Route 9 Plaza,” Hand-Freda said.
“SETS Hybrid Training is a growing concept with an outstanding reputation and a loyal following in this market,” she added. “We are pleased to accommodate their space needs while bringing an added dimension to the retail experience at Route 9 Plaza.”
Other tenants at Route 9 Plaza includes AutoZone, Tots & Blocks Academy and a hair salon.
