GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. has named a new associate principal in New Jersey after a promotion on its environmental engineering team.

The professional services firm said that, in his new role, Bhuvnesh J. Parekh will take an expanded leadership, mentoring and business development position within the practice, focusing on complex and innovative remediation design projects. Based in the company’s Fairfield office, he joined GZA in 2018 and rises from the post of senior consultant.
Parekh is licensed as both a professional engineer and licensed site remediation professional in New Jersey and has more than two decades of experience in project management, environmental consulting, remediation engineering and construction management.
“B.J. is skilled at leveraging his regulatory and engineering systems to help our clients solve some of their most complex manufacturing and remediation challenges,” said Patrick Sheehan, the firm’s CEO and president. “In his new, expanded role as associate principal, I am confident he will help GZA further advance these services companywide and assist clients in New Jersey, the mid-Atlantic, and beyond.”
In a news release, GZA noted that Parekh has successfully designed and implemented technologies such as manufacturing air pollution control systems, air sparging, bioslurping, ozone-sparging, point-of-entry treatment systems, soil vapor extraction, pump and treat, Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid recovery systems using dual phase extraction and skimmer pumps and other mobile treatment systems. He holds two master’s degrees, in bioresource engineering from Rutgers University and in environmental engineering/environment technology from the University of Mumbai.
