The developer of a planned boutique hotel in downtown Morristown has retained Hollister Construction Services as its construction manager.
Hollister, which is based in Parsippany, will work on behalf of Sunstone Hotels Morristown LLC to oversee construction at the seven-story, 86,000-square-foot project at 14 and 30 Bank St. Slated to break ground this fall, The Cambria Hotel will include 114 guestrooms, a 2,500-square-foot upscale restaurant and lounge and 1,500 square feet of conference space.
“We are excited and honored to have been selected by Sunstone Hotels Morristown, LLC as the Construction Manager to bring (The Cambria Hotel) to reality,” said Ray Barker, Hollister’s vice president of residential construction. “Hollister looks forward to continue collaborating with Sunstone and their design professionals on the successful delivery of this 86,000-square-foot, 114-room boutique hotel located within walking distance of the Morristown Green.”
Plans for the hotel, which is several years in the making, also call for penthouse suites with balconies overlooking the revitalized Market Street promenade below, along with a fitness center and ground-floor retail space.
The Hollister project team includes Barker, Dana Garfinkel, Jack Cervino, Frank Caputo, Hassan Ali and Melissa Stewart. Other firms involved include NV5 as the owner’s representative, JN+A as architect, Whitestone Associates as environmental engineer, Bohler Engineering as civil engineer, Cagley & Associates as structural engineer and HVS Design as interior designer.
