A popular Jersey Shore restaurant is expanding to Burlington County after taking more than 9,000 square feet at a new mixed-use development along Route 70.
The site’s developer, RD Management LLC, said The Chicken or the Egg is one of two newly signed tenants at The Shoppes at Renaissance Square in the Marlton section of Evesham. The Long Beach Island-based eatery is slated to open this fall inside its new 9,449-square-foot location, which is under construction on an outparcel facing Route 70.
According to a news release, the space will keep many original elements, like the 30-year-old menu, while offering a modern take. Plans call for a 3,014-square-foot terrace and a 5,058-square-foot beer garden with an outdoor bar, fire pits, a mix of seating options and occasional live entertainment for patrons to experience while enjoying all-day-breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“Known as one of Beach Haven’s most popular restaurants, Chegg is sure to bring a ton of excitement and traffic to Renaissance Square,” said Richard Birdoff, principal and president of RD Management.
Birdoff’s firm also announced a new commitment for a 13,189-square-foot adult day care center at Renaissance Square. The space will feature 1950s-themed activity rooms, called storefronts, created to put seniors at ease and spark memories of the past by utilizing vintage design elements and décor.
Both will add to the mix of offerings at a newly completed site that includes 338 luxury residential units and 127,631 square feet of retail, medical, office and restaurant space. Existing tenants include Virtua Medical Group, Children of America, TD Bank, Evesham Mortgage, Dunkin’ Donuts and Keller Williams Real Estate.
