The former head of leasing for Mack-Cali Realty Corp. has joined JLL’s brokerage team in New Jersey.
The real estate services firm announced that it has hired Christopher DeLorenzo as an executive vice president with its New Jersey brokerage operations. In the new role, he will focus on agency leasing, national multimarket corporate account work, new business development and tenant representation.
DeLorenzo will be based in the JLL’s Parsippany office and report to Daniel Loughlin, managing director and head of office brokerage in New Jersey.
“Christopher DeLorenzo has unmatched experience in leasing and marketing strategies for high-quality office space throughout New Jersey,” Loughlin said. “JLL will greatly benefit from his crucial insights into ownership strategies having served as head of leasing for Mack-Cali.”
Mack-Cali announced in late January that DeLorenzo, who is well-known in the state’s commercial real estate sector, would be stepping down after 20 years with the company. As executive vice president, he was responsible for all of Mack-Cali’s leasing and asset management activities for a portfolio of 26.2 million square feet.
DeLorenzo has 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, JLL said. During his career with Mack-Cali, he was involved in more than 1,500 transactions totaling more than $2.5 billion in aggregate value.
In a news release, JLL said that experience makes him uniquely qualified to represent both tenants and landlords alike.
“I’m honored to be joining such an innovative and talented group of real estate professionals and look forward to working with my new colleagues as we leverage JLL’s platform to deliver real value and expertise to our clients,” DeLorenzo said.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business management from Syracuse University. His time with Mack-Cali also included a stretch over the past three years, in which the real estate investment trust has trimmed and repositioned its massive portfolio in the region.
“We are thrilled that Chris has joined our team,” said Timothy Greiner, executive managing director and head of agency leasing for JLL in New Jersey. “He will be an integral part of the growth of our agency practice group.
“Chris’s technical leasing skill will add value to all of our landlord clients, and his deep understanding of landlords’ strategies will strengthen our tenant representation business. His experience helping shape Mack-Cali’s multimillion-dollar transformation of their Hudson waterfront portfolio, as well as the repositioning of numerous other portfolios adds additional depth to our team.”
