JMF Properties has kicked off construction for a planned 110-unit luxury rental property at the border of Glen Ridge and Montclair.
The property, known as Clarus Glen Ridge, sits on Baldwin Avenue just steps from NJ Transit’s Bay Street station and a short walk from downtown Montclair. It is the latest multifamily project for the Whippany-based developer, with delivery slated for spring 2020.
“You’re 1,000 feet from everything, and that’s what we really like about this property,” said Joe Forgione, the firm’s founder and principal. “You can walk to the train station, and shops, restaurants, and nightlife destinations in Montclair. But at the same time you are in a quiet, relaxed neighborhood that truly feels like home. This is a luxury product, designed first and foremost with the lifestyle experience of our residents in mind, and we are proud to announce that construction is underway.”
The Glen Ridge project is the second by JMF that will carry the “Clarus” brand name, following the delivery of Clarus Maplewood in October 2017. The boutique property leased up quickly and won multiple awards and accolades, thanks in large part to its focus on wellness as part of its design and construction.
The firm’s latest project in Essex County will feature amenities such as a modern wellness center with a fitness room and yoga and spin room, with virtual fitness. Other plans call for a billiards room, second-floor residents’ lounge and a theater, along with an outdoor space with a landscaped courtyard seating, a game area, grills and a fire pit.
JMF has already completed a 220-space parking garage at the property, according to a news release. Meantime, the developer touted the proximity of the train station, which offers direct service to New York Penn Station in about 35 minutes and Hoboken Terminal in about 30 minutes, along with the nearby Glen Ridge train station.
