Samsung has extended another lease at a Ridgefield Park office campus, this time for a 48,000-square-foot space occupied by its software and IT services unit.
The KABR Group, the landlord at 100 Challenger Road, announced Thursday that Samsung SDS America had signed the 10-year extension at the 145,000-square-foot building. The deal will keep the company’s headquarters at the complex through 2031, following last year’s 235,000-square-foot extension at a neighboring building by Samsung’s U.S. subsidiary.
Dan Lessing, principal at DSR Group LLC, represented KABR, while Newmark Managing Director Paul March represented the tenant in the latest deal.
“We are excited that Samsung SDSA has agreed to stay at 100 Challenger for an additional 10 years,” said Adam Altman, a managing member of KABR. “We view this long-term commitment as proof positive that our capital investment program in 100 Challenger has been well received by the market. We remain committed to providing a Class A tenant experience for innovative 21st-century technology companies like Samsung SDS and its employees.”
KABR announced the deal while touting recent upgrades at 100 Challenger, which is part of the 60-acre Overpeck Corporate Center. The firm’s $4 million renovation included adding a new café and a fitness center with locker rooms and Peloton bikes, along with a remodeled main lobby and newly resurfaced parking areas with electric vehicle charging stations.
Samsung SDS America, which expanded in 2015 from its original lease of 16,000 square feet, occupies a third of the eight-story building. Other tenants within Overpeck Corporate Center include Samsung Electronics America at 85 Challenger Road, Kumon at 55 Challenger Road and Prudent Publishing at 65 Challenger Road.
The office park, which has its own exit off Interstate 95, is minutes from the George Washington Bridge and the Lincoln Tunnel. It’s also adjacent to Bergen County’s 805-acre Overpeck County Park.
