The KABR Group and Kushner have signed three new leases at a newly renovated, 111,000-square-foot office tower in Jersey City’s iconic Journal Square neighborhood.
The largest of the new tenants, Alliance Community Healthcare, committed to 5,826 square feet at 26 Journal Square after relocating from a nearby location, according to a news release. Additionally, Inter-Con Security and Hanger Prosthetics leased 1,826 and 1,713 square feet, respectively.
The firms are part of the building’s fast-growing roster of health care and commercial office tenants, following a sweeping upgrade of the 16-story building.
“Professional practices continue to rave about 26 Journal Square’s $5 million dollar capital investment program, highlighted by the ‘The Vault,’ a converted bank vault into a conference room and co-working lounge open to all tenants free of charge,” said Michael Goldstein, KABR’s chief operating officer . “26 Journal Square’s complete transformation, with its truly unique lounge and upgrades to all commons areas sets our building above its competition. 26 Journal Square’s tenants and their visitors continue to be impressed.”
Built in 1926, the property now has modern amenities with a nostalgic feel after the four-year renovation project, the news release said. Upgrades include a redesigned lobby highlighting the original Beaux Arts style, newly renovated elevator cabs with PurClean disinfecting technology, new bathrooms and fixtures on every floor and updated HVAC in tenant spaces and common areas with increased airflow.
KABR also touted the addition of full-time on-site property management and security, a tenant-shared conference room and amenity lounge, exterior street-level signage, fiber provided by Verizon FIOS and Comcast Business and on-site parking.
