KRE Group has all but completed a new 270-unit multifamily project in Hopewell, the latest addition to its housing portfolio in suburban markets.
The firm on Wednesday said leasing is underway at the collection of one- and two-bedroom homes at 1 Samuel Peterson Drive, known as The Hopewell Chapter, touting a design that evokes local traditions while providing renters with upscale amenities and social spaces. Monthly rents for market-rate units start from the mid-$2,000s, with incentives, while 54 of the apartments are reserved for affordable housing.
KRE Group expects to welcome its first residents in early May.
“We believe home should never go out of style,” said Jonathan Kushner, the firm’s president. “At The Hopewell Chapter, we’ve created living spaces that honor the rich heritage of the region and address the need for convenient commuting to nearby cities while providing all the modern comforts that make everyday living both easier and more memorable.”
Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, the complex has six four-story buildings with pitched roofs and natural stone accents that reflect Hopewell’s distinctive character, according to a news release. Amenities include a 6,500-square-foot clubhouse with a resort-style pool, outdoor dining areas with fire pits and community gardens, along with walking trails, a children’s playground and a dedicated dog park.
KRE noted that the property, which is a mile from Interstate 295, is also a short drive from Route 1. That gives residents easy access to destinations like Princeton and Trenton, which are a roughly 20-minute drive from the site, as well as commuter rail service at NJ Transit’s Hamilton station.
