Kushner Real Estate Group has leased more than two-thirds of a new 397-unit apartment building in Jersey City, as the firm joined local officials last week to mark the opening of the property.
The developer hailed the progress at 485 Marin Blvd., which is located in the city’s Hamilton Park section, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday. Mayor Steven Fulop was among those on hand to celebrate the new ground-up building, which is already 70 percent leased after launching its marketing effort in June.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the residents of 485 Marin to their new home,” said Jonathan Kushner, president of KRE Group. “The building offers spacious homes with desirable layouts and high-quality finishes, along with a collection of modern amenities, creating a unique residential experience in one of Jersey City’s most desirable neighborhoods.”
Architectural firm Hollwich Kushner and interior designer Christopher Steven collaborated on the building’s design, with Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects serving as the architect of record. With the design, KRE Group said the team sought to bridge the brownstones of the idyllic Hamilton Park neighborhood with the bustling Newport Centre mall area.
The developer will soon debut Marin Green, a new public park located directly behind 485 Marin that was designed by Melillo & Bauer Associates.
“This is a unique rental development that will be home to Jersey City’s newest public park, Marin Green,” Fulop said. “We continue to strive to meet the needs of Jersey City’s neighborhoods by working with developers to offer various options for new and current residents as we look to improve communities with new amenities such as parks, retail space and affordable housing.”
