Two retail tenants will open their first New Jersey locations after signing leases at Kushner’s mixed-use Pier Village property in Long Branch.
In the larger deal, Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has taken 2,062 square feet at the oceanfront complex, according to a news release. The seafood restaurant, which has nearly 30 locations across the country, will bring its fast-casual concept to the Garden State nearly a decade after its founding.
Meantime, Sunglass City will lease 1,624 square feet at Pier Village to expand beyond its existing locations in Maryland and Florida, Kushner said. Like Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls, it’s slated to open this summer.
“As we gear up for summer, we are excited to welcome Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls and Sunglass City to our growing community of premier shopping, dining, entertainment and residential experiences,” Kushner’s Nicole Kushner Meyer said. “With a diverse array of additional businesses scheduled to open their doors in the coming weeks, we know that summer 2023 will be Pier Village’s most successful year yet.”
The operators are the latest additions to Pier Village’s growing list of shops and restaurants and will open alongside recently added tenants such as Little Words Project, Molly and Zoey and Salt Nation Surf Shop. Salt Life, Little Words Project and Sundae Donuts opened their doors the earlier this spring, while Baldy Art Gallery recently reopened and unveiled its 2023 collection.
New tenants Strand Salon, Remedy Realm and Gavone’s Italian are also scheduled to debut later in 2023.
“Pier Village’s continued ability to attract high-quality and unique retail tenants highlights the community’s broad appeal to not just businesses but residents and guests alike,” said Ryan Starkman, vice president at Pierson Commercial, the retail leasing agent for The Shops at Pier Village. “We have been honored to help bring each of these businesses to the community and look forward to seeing each of them open their doors this year.”
Pier Village is home to more than 140,000 square feet of retail, food and beverage and fitness space. The property, which draws more than 2.3 million visitors annually, also has 493 luxury rental apartments, 243 upscale condominiums and 91 hotel rooms.
