LAN Associates has expanded its offerings with the addition of a new senior interior designer.

The new hire, Sun Ju Valenta, joins the company with more than 25 years of experience and comes as it diversifies its portfolio with new projects that require dedicated interior design. The Midland Park-based firm can now provide those services in-house, it said, noting that the offering will be in conjunction with its New Jersey architecture department.
“Sun Ju is a great addition to our firm and has joined the team at a pivotal time for LAN Associates,” said Matt Wolfe, an assistant vice president who leads the department. “As we expand into new markets, her expertise will be vital to offering a full-service experience for our clients. Her innovative and artistic eye towards design is the perfect complement to our architectural department’s work.”
LAN said Valenta will help it expand its presence in the commercial, residential and hospitality sectors, adding that she has specialized in serving those markets both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining LAN, she worked in both private practice at her own firm and on staff at major design firms including Gensler, Swanke Hayden Connell Architects and Inarch.
Valenta holds a National Certificate of Interior Design Qualification and is an associate under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale.
“I was thrilled to be asked to join LAN Associates, a firm with such a positive and strong history,” Valenta said. “Their innovative workmanship and expertise are inspiring, and joining the team is the beginning of an exciting journey. I look forward to contributing my interior design expertise to multidiscipline projects across a wide spectrum of markets.”
Since joining LAN, Valenta has guided design concepts and helped clients reopen their facilities safely in the wake of last year’s COVID-19 outbreak. She joins a team of nearly 100 that includes architects, engineers, environmental scientists, land use professionals and surveyors.
