Langan Engineering & Environmental Services has added to its growing footprint outside New Jersey with the opening of an office in West Virginia, the Parsippany-based firm announced.
The new location, located in Bridgeport, West Virginia, is Langan’s 23rd office in the U.S. The firm said the move is meant to tap into the growing Marcellus Shale natural gas market, while providing its full complement of engineering and environmental services to the real estate development market throughout the state.
The Bridgeport office is located at 109 Platinum Drive, in what Langan says is the heart of energy country in West Virginia. Senior Project Manager Chip Day leads the office, bringing 16 years of experience and an extensive background in planning and permitting related to midstream oil and gas, land development and transportation infrastructure projects.
Day’s local team will be supported by senior associates Jason Hanna and Scott Rowland, Langan said in a news release. Also supporting the West Virginia office will be Gerard Coscia, the Langan senior principal who directs its operations in Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
“Our new office in West Virginia establishes yet another Langan foothold within the Marcellus Shale region,” said David T. Gockel, CEO and president of Langan. “Chip Day’s vast experience in the oil and gas industry will no doubt help the firm support current and prospective clients in that region, and with a proven leadership team behind him we are confident that Bridgeport will be a success.”
In addition to applying its consulting expertise to the oil and gas industry, Langan said it is providing geotechnical, site/civil and environmental engineering services to developers and architects in West Virginia, where many existing clients and partners are developing higher education facilities, health care structures and other private mixed-use developments.
Day said the firm sees “enormous potential” in West Virginia.
“We will continue fostering existing and new oil and gas client relationships throughout the region, along with supporting other sectors Langan is traditionally involved in, such as land development,” he said. “Our integrated team brings multiple technical disciplines to a project, which differentiates Langan from the competition, and ultimately offers measurable value to our clients.”
