Larken Associates has hired a new senior estimator as the latest piece of its in-house construction team.
In the new role, Emilio Valdo will assist with the Branchburg-based firm’s fast-growing development pipeline and third-party construction projects. He brings nearly 25 years of estimating experience to the job and will work with the senior leadership of Larken Associates and its construction unit, Core Enterprises, to ensure cost-effective planning and delivery of projects.
“In such a competitive development market, the ability to streamline and find efficiencies within the construction process has never been more important,” said Lenny Tartamella, chief operating officer at Larken Associates. “As we continue to grow our development pipeline, we know that having the right people in place will be crucial to our continued success. We are excited to bring Emilio on board and we are confident that we can lean on his experience and knowledge as we continue to bring unique and exciting projects to life.”
The firm said Valdo will deliver estimating services including resource and asset management, profit and loss and budget analysis, bidding, quotes and proposal assistance, procurement and cost reductions and risk assessments. In doing so, he’ll draw on his experience with firms such as Noble Construction Group, DPR Construction, Phelps Construction Group, Merritt Construction Services and Turner Construction Co.
Core Enterprises, which was established in 2010, is overseeing construction on Larken’s pipeline of multifamily projects across New Jersey and Pennsylvania totaling 1022 units across five communities, according to a news release. The division also executes third-party construction jobs across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
Valdo joins a team that already includes project managers, project supervisors, carpenters, interior designers, estimators and other construction professionals, the news release said. The division also supports Larken’s 3 million-square-foot commercial portfolio by completing capital improvement work, turnkey repositioning and other construction needs.
