Larken Associates has received local approvals to build 120 new apartments in Pohatcong, as it looks to add to its multifamily portfolio in Warren County and across the region.
The developer on Tuesday said it’s planning a mid-2023 construction start for what’s known as Monte View at Pohatcong, located on High Street, with completion slated for early 2025. At full build-out, the site will include three multistory, garden-style buildings and one four-story elevatored building with a ground-level clubhouse, with upscale amenities and an overall footprint that spans nine acres.
Larken Associates also expects to lure renters with a location just off Interstate 78 and less than a mile from the New Jersey and Pennsylvania border.
“A decades-long commitment to bringing high-quality, luxury residential experiences to underserved markets like Pohatcong stands at the heart of our residential development platform,” said David Gardner, CEO and president of the Branchburg-based firm. “We are excited to celebrate the construction of Monte View at Pohatcong as it will be the next chapter in the growth of our multifamily portfolio, and we look forward to bringing this one-of-a-kind residential experience to western Warren County in 2025.”
In a news release, Larken noted that the site is 10 minutes from the company’s recently completed, 198-unit Autumn Ridge complex and its 414-unit Warren Heights property in Lopatcong, which recently sold its final unit. Both are part of an overall Larken Living portfolio that spans 22 properties with a combined 2,500 owned and managed residential units across the Northeast.
Amenities at Monte View at Pohatcong will include a pool, a dog run and a fitness center, the news release said. Residents, meantime, will be minutes from a diverse slate of employers and a wide range of entertainment, dining and shopping options found in nearby Phillipsburg and in the regions around Easton and Allentown, Pennsylvania.
