A yoga and fitness studio is coming to Larken Associates’ new mixed-use Hillsborough Village Center property along Route 206 in the township, the developer announced Tuesday.
The tenant, Yoga M.A.T.T., is taking 1,741 square feet at 1 Housel Circle, where it will join the mix of office, medical and retail space below the project’s luxury apartments. Clients will find a small group functional training facility integrating yoga, TRX, Kettlebell and conditioning classes, while the business will also offer massage services, cupping and kinesiology taping as well as personal training for those with specific needs and for those recovering from injuries.
Rob Marek of Raider Realty, Larken Associates’ in-house brokerage division, represented ownership.
“For the last 12 years, our passion for fitness and health has helped us build deep relationships with our clients across Somerset County,” said Christine Beckelman, founder and co-owner of Yoga M.A.T.T. “We are excited to relocate to this beautiful, new community and create a state-of-the-art facility offering fitness classes, yoga, personal training and massage services to continue to help people achieve their fitness goals.”
Located just west of Route 206, Hillsborough Village Center has 191 apartments and 28,000 square feet of commercial space. Larken leased up the residential portion of the property in late 2021, thanks in part to a series of amenities and its proximity to the dining, retail and tourism options found throughout Somerset County.
Yoga M.A.T.T. will join retail tenants such as the soon-to-be-open Tropical Smoothie Cafe and JC Nail Spa.
“Hillsborough Village Center’s ground-level retail is suited to meet the needs of a variety of tenants in today’s market,” said Marek, an executive vice president with Raider Realty. “Yoga M.A.T.T.’s terrific reputation within the community aligns with our focus on adding high-quality tenants and we wish them the best of luck in their new space.”
