Larken Associates has hired a veteran accounting manager as its new director of finance.
The new hire, Michael Drabnis, brings more than 20 years of public accounting experience to his new role with the Branchburg-based developer and commercial real estate manager. He joins the firm from Neidich & Co. and will oversee the operations of its accounting department.
Additionally, Drabnis will work closely with the accounting team and executive leadership to facilitate accurate accounting and reporting, financial analysis, bank reporting and debt service coverage, along with federal, state and local tax filings and cash flow updates, according to a news release. He will also oversee investor reporting and capital calls, while leading Larken’s accounting team in identifying strategic opportunities to streamline processes and continue to adopt paperless technology.
“With several high-profile development projects underway and a wide range of transactions taking place each day, our finance team is crucial in providing us with the information we need to execute our short and long-term business goals,” said David Gardner, CEO and president of Larken Associates. “For such an important piece of our business, we recognize that it is vital for this team to have the processes and leadership in place to ensure operational excellence. Michael’s combination of experience and leadership skills make him the ideal person to fill this role and we are excited to have him on our team.”
Drabnis previously served as a manager with Neidich, working with its real estate accounting team to prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, estate and multistate tax returns, the news release said. He has also served in leadership roles with Weiser LLP and Gillen & Johnson P.A.
