Larken Associates has signed a 19,000-square-foot lease in Branchburg to fill a newly completed speculative office project on Route 22.
The developer on Wednesday said Financial Resources Federal Credit Union will occupy the entire building just west of Station Road. Located at 3040 Route 22 West, the facility will open alongside an existing 90,000-square-foot building within Larken’s Branchburg Centre complex, which the firm purchased in 2017.
Victor Kelly of Raider Realty, the firm’s in-house brokerage unit, represented ownership. John Compitello of JLL represented Financial Resources Federal Credit Union, or FRFCU, a member-owned, nonprofit credit union headquartered in Bridgewater and founded more than 100 years ago.
“We are excited to further expand our presence in New Jersey and deepen our connection with the Branchburg community,” said Frank Almeida, CEO and president of FRFCU. “Our new space at Branchburg Centre will help accommodate the continued growth and success our Credit Union has seen over the past several years.”
Larken announced the deal on Wednesday, noting that FRFCU serves more than 26,000 members and has over $600 million in assets, offering public access branches in Bridgewater, Flemington, Green Brook, Hillsborough, Jersey City and Somerset, as well as a new branch that will soon open in Elizabeth.
“Larken Associates is pleased to welcome Financial Resources Federal Credit Union to our new building at Branchburg Centre,” said Kelly, an executive vice president with Raider Realty. “Despite the challenges the New Jersey office market has faced since the COVID-19 pandemic, Branchburg Centre’s expansive amenity package and strategic location make it a place where businesses can thrive.”
The lease follows Larken’s major renovation of Building 1, the original 90,000-square-foot structure at the site. It then started construction on the second building before attracting FRFCU as a tenant.
