Fox Rothschild has opened its sleek new office building in downtown Morristown, completing a long-awaited move that will raise the law firm’s profile in a vibrant business district.
Developed by The Hampshire Cos., the 42,000-square-foot building sits at the intersection of Market and Bank streets and will house 50 attorneys, the firm said. The state-of-the-art space brings together previously separate offices that were elsewhere in Morristown and in Roseland.
It also represents a rare addition of new Class A office space to downtown Morristown, replacing a long-unoccupied building just steps from the town center. With a distinctive triangular layout and a red brick exterior, the property serves as a gateway to the downtown from Morris Township.
“Morristown is booming, both with business and culture,” said Deirdre Moore, the managing partner of the Morristown office. “As a longtime resident of the area, I am thrilled that Fox is able to bolster the community by creating, from the ground up, a modern and efficient building that also respects the town’s historic aspects.”
The decision to construct a new office came as the firm’s leases in both Morristown and Roseland were coming to an end, according to a news release. Fox attorneys, led by real estate partner Robert Klausner, worked in conjunction with Hampshire, a client, to secure the land and obtain all necessary development approvals.
Fox — whose practices in the area include real estate, labor and employment, commercial litigation, corporate, immigration, tax and wealth planning and family law matters — will lease the new building in its entirety from Hampshire.
“Consolidating our northern New Jersey locations makes strategic sense on many fronts,” said Mark L. Silow, Fox’s firm-wide managing partner. “The new space affords us the opportunity to magnify our presence in the region and helps us become a hub of collaboration and productivity for our clients and for the overall business community in New Jersey.
“We look forward to showcasing our new space to clients and friends,” he added. “We will be actively looking to grow the office and add talent to our teams.”
