Link Logistics has taken the wraps off a new industrial building in Kearny, delivering nearly 164,000 square feet of modern space under a project that it said was five years in the making.
The developer recently welcomed Mayor Carol Jean Doyle to the property at 100-140 Lincoln Highway, directly south of Route 1&9, where it has redeveloped the former site of the Talbot Hall Rehabilitation Center. On display were several modern features at the 163,987-square-foot facility, including its 40-foot clear ceiling heights, 5,500 square feet of office space, 34 dock doors and parking for 80 cars and 18 trailers.
“We are proud to support New Jersey’s fast-growing logistics industry, which is crucial for funding many state amenities, by creating significant construction and permanent jobs,” said Britt Winterer, Link Logistics’ chief development officer. “Our focus on prime infill locations like Kearny aligns with the highest customer demand, contributing to local economic growth.”
Link, a Blackstone affiliate, acquired the 10-acre property in early 2021. CBRE arranged the sale and is also the leasing team for the completed development, with Kevin Dudley, Chad Hillyer, Nicholas Klacik and Kate Granahan spearheading the agency.
The developer noted that the building is a mile and a half from the New Jersey Turnpike, some six miles from Port Newark-Elizabeth and 6.3 miles from New York City.
“We are here today to celebrate the partnership between Link Logistics and Kearny and the dedication we each have to innovation and long-term economic growth,” Doyle said. “Link’s new development supports Kearny’s goal of creating jobs for our town and growing businesses.”
