The first residents have moved into a new loft-style apartment building at the former site of a factory in Trenton, marking a milestone in a developer’s plan to convert an iconic wire rope manufacturing complex in the city.
HHG Development Associates LLC and its management agent, Pennrose, said this week that renters are now taking occupancy at the 138-unit Roebling Lofts. Occupancy is proceeding by floor at the 100-year-old former Roebling Son’s Co. factory, which now includes one- and two-bedroom units with high ceilings, oversized windows and high-end finishes.
Rents range from $1,085 to $2,350 at the property, which sits along the Hamilton Avenue light rail station for NJ Transit’s Riverline.
“We are extremely pleased with the leasing progress,” said Michael Goldstein, principal with HHG. “Residents are responding to the stunning design, green features and superb location of these lofts. It is gratifying to welcome our first tenants and to experience their excitement with their new homes.”
The $40 million Roebling Lofts is the first phase of development of Roebling Center. When complete, the complex will include up to 170,000 square feet of Class A office space, a total of 190 loft apartments and 37,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space.
