Colliers International has hired a veteran real estate consultant in New Jersey and the region as a senior managing director with its New York Tri-State platform.
Thomas Shirocky, who previously worked in CBRE’s Saddle Brook office, brings more than 26 years of real estate expertise to the position, Colliers said. In his new role, he will provide financial modeling and reporting, innovative deal configuration, economic comparisons and cost analysis on a cash and book basis for acquisitions, dispositions, strategic planning initiatives and other client projects.
“Tom Shirocky is one of the smartest, most accomplished financial professionals in New York real estate, and he adds another layer of excellence to a team that already impresses with their level of expertise each and every day,” said Joseph Harbert, Colliers’ eastern region president. “He will have an immediate impact on the analytics and strategic advice we provide clients, and his leadership and transaction management experience will enhance every initiative in which he participates.”
Shirocky’s experience includes posts in the New York region, along with the Denver and Houston markets. He has extensive experience consulting on large transactions and has advised senior management of Fortune 500 companies regionally and nationally on the financial and operational feasibility of their real estate decisions.
Shirocky led CBRE’s New Jersey consulting team before joining Colliers. He began his real estate career at the Edward S. Gordon Co.
“Colliers is in the midst of a major expansion both in New York and across the country, and I’m excited to become part of a team that increasingly boasts such expertise and industry standouts,” Shirocky said. “The firm is truly challenging the established hierarchy and status quo in the Tri-State, and my skills and experience will complement both how it serves clients now and how it expects its capabilities to grow in the future.”
