An Italian market has rolled out its third location in New Jersey with the opening of a new 15,000-square-foot store in Middletown, according to brokers involved in the deal.
The operator, Livoti’s Old World Market, is among the newest tenants at the Middletown Shopping Center on Route 35. Jason Gerbsman of HUDSON represented Livoti’s, whose store offers fresh produce, homemade pastas, a pizza bar, prepared foods, fresh seafood and a butcher department among its specialty offerings.
“In my opinion, they are the best gourmet operators in New Jersey, hands down,” Gerbsman said. “This was one of the toughest deals I have ever been involved with in my 15 years in brokerage.”
He added that the deal “died and came back to life more than a few times,” but the brokerage team was able to come to terms with the property owner. The store celebrated with a grand opening in early July.
“Ben Willner of Willner Realty & Development has done a tremendous job renovating and redeveloping this shopping center,” Gerbsman said. “With the new T.J. Maxx, new Bed Bath & Beyond and now Livoti’s joining the tenant lineup, in addition to a stunning facade renovation, this center is now one of the hottest spots in town.”
